The Emerging Leaders Academy is designed to build a strong foundation for emerging construction managers. With a focus on developing essential management skills and gaining industry insights, this program empowers participants to know themselves, know their industry, and set their course for a successful future in construction leadership.

Submitting an application does not ensure acceptance into the program. Each year, a maximum of 30 participants will be selected, with preference given to employees of AGC member companies.

What is the Curriculum?

Leadership Development:

Construction Industry:

  • Accounting and Financial Management: Gain essential knowledge in financial management specific to the construction industry.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Learn the intricacies of planning and scheduling to keep projects on track.
  • Controls and Bidding: Understand the controls and bidding processes to secure and manage projects effectively.
  • Construction Project Management: Acquire the skills needed to manage construction projects from start to finish.

This program is ideal for construction professionals starting their careers or aspiring to manage people and project teams. Join us to build a solid foundation for your future in construction leadership.

  • Emerging Professionals: In the early to mid-stages of their construction careers, they are eager to take on more responsibility, develop leadership skills, and contribute to their community.
  • HR Professionals: AGC of California is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.
