In partnership with construction technology provider, HammerTech, AGC of California and the AGC Construction Education Foundation (CEF) have launched the HammerTech Safety Scholarship. Geared towards college students, the scholarship is designed to address the need for well-trained, certified construction safety professionals that has compounded in recent years.

This is a great opportunity for those pursuing CM, CE, or adjacent AEC/Safety related degrees with a strong interest and/or proven internship history in construction safety. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 15, click here to apply.

Celebrate Construction Inclusion Week

Construction Inclusion Week 2023 is right around the corner! Please join AGC of California and our partners for a kick-off reception hosted by BuildOUT California on Oct. 4 in Inglewood, followed by Supplier Diversity Day mixers across the state on Oct. 18. These networking events will bring together contractors, partners, and owners to share opportunities and experiences with SUBs. RSVP to the Oakland mixer here and the Sacramento mixer here. Supporting women in construction!

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager, Kayla Montgomery, will be representing AGC of California at the Women Construction Owners & Executives (WCOE) Annual Conference taking place in San Diego, CA on Oct. 5 – 6.

She will be a panelist alongside representatives from National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Los Angeles Chapter, Women in Construction Operations (WiOPS), and BuildOUT California for a session about the importance of collaborating with different trade groups to strengthen the support of women in construction. AGC of California’s Inclusive Leaders Institute, powered by Granite Construction, is an executive leadership program that aims to equip organizational leaders with knowledge and skills to lead their companies toward a true culture evolution. The program is designed specifically for executive-level leaders in the construction industry. Participants will go through 4 instructor-led workshops and peer group sessions all of which will be 100% virtual. Apply to join the Fall 2023 cohort now to learn how to leverage the culture of inclusion to retain and empower top talent!

Grow your career at your own pace

The AGC of California Training and Education program is continually evolving and expanding its offerings to meet the needs of the construction industry. This summer, the program vastly expanded both its reach and breadth of course offerings within their on-demand learning platform, the AGC Learning Management System (LMS). Featuring a robust catalog of over 200 courses, the LMS provides training for all levels of construction industry employees. Courses are offered virtually and asynchronously, enabling them to be completed at each user’s pace.
