Design Build Rooftop Photovoltaic Installation at Grove and Harvest Churches

This project exemplifies a project that contributes to the community. Using high-quality materials and the safest means possible, we have given our community a gift that will continue to value to the surrounding public and add value to the quality of life.

Design Build Rooftop Photovoltaic Installation at Grove and Harvest Churches - Riverside

Stronghold Engineering, Inc. is proud of our community. With a city of Riverside’s size, there will always be a need for support, charity, and education for those less fortunate. There are two organizations that help those in need. They are; the Harvest Church and The Grove Church.

Harvest's beginnings were humble. There was no great strategy behind the church plant. Harvest's pastor, Greg Laurie, was a part of the Jesus People movement in the late 1960's. This Bible study soon outgrew the facility it was meeting in and became a church when it moved to its current location on Arlington Avenue. These churches have ministries that reach out to those in financial, emotional, and physical distress. These programs are completely ran on donations, as is the rest of the church facility activities. In order to help these organizations give to our community and help our community in return, we decided we needed to give in a way that would allow more of the donations received each year go towards these community outreach programs.

With Stronghold’s foundation in high-voltage electrical construction, we were able to see the potential and need for Solar Power Construction early in the technologies introduction and compiled a team with expertise and experience needed to become one of California’s leading solar EPCs. This past year we thought of a way that our services could have a farther reaching effect. In 2014 we donated, in conjunction with Lamb Energy, all labor and materials to put 64.8 kW Solar Power Systems on these two Churches in our community. Solar energy not only makes sense for California, but it is critical to California’s survival in decreasing its dependence off conventional fossil fuels. Each new solar panel helps to clean our air, fight global warming, improve the reliability of our electricity grid, boost the economy, and create much needed jobs.

The systems will produce over 100,000 kWh annually saving the churches upwards of $25,000 per year. This will lower their energy and maintenance costs and allow those funds to be used in helping the less fortunate in our communities. The system was also designed in 10kW blocks, allowing for expansion and growth. As these churches are able, more panels can be added to the system saving in more money that can be put back into the community.

This project exemplifies a project that contributes to the community. Stronghold made sure to go above and beyond. We installed a state of the art, quality photovoltaic system that produces above the estimated outputs. Using high-quality materials and the safest means possible, we have given our community a gift that will continue to value to the surrounding public and add value to the quality of life and environment for years to come.
