MCM Construction, Inc.
MCM Construction, Inc. was founded in 1973, just 16 years after James Allen Carter started as a Laborer for C.B. Tuttle Construction on the 55 Freeway in Orange County. Later he was moved to the Carpenters Union and thus started his passion for building bridges. Within a week Jim was promoted to Foreman and stayed with the company until the untimely passing of Mr. Tuttle. He then went to work for McClosky Construction and within days was asked to move his Carpenter book to the Pile Drivers Union. As a member of the Pile a new and important dimension of bridge building was introduced and Jim learned quickly. He went on to work for a few other contractors until taking employment at Polich-Benedict. There he expanded his knowledge of bridge building and design. MCM Construction, Inc. ran in the early years. The stories of the entire family working nights and weekends are limitless, but that’s what it took to become California’s Premier Bridge Building Company. To this day Jim attributes his success to the people that surround him: “Every bridge we build stands as a Monument to the hard work, innovation and dedication of MCM Construction, Inc. and its Employees.”
