“Kate has been a valued member of the government affairs team and has shown true dedication and leadership,” said AGC Chief Executive Officer Tom Holsman. “The Executive Leadership Team is very confident in Kate’s abilities to lead the department successfully to meet the growing opportunities and challenges facing the construction industry.”

Since joining AGC in 2016 as Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs, Kate has made great strides in her respective divisions. She became heavily involved with public agencies and private owners/developers, advocating in the areas of contractual language, funding, and policy reform. Prior to joining AGC, Kate served as the Executive Vice President of the Southern California Contractors Association.

“I am very excited to be stepping into a role that will allow me to continue to work with my team members at AGC and our membership during this time of transition,” said Mergen. “As we continue to move into an expanding and competitive market, I am committed to strengthening relationships and continuing to work alongside our partners in proactively mitigating the obstacles presented and helping improve our industry.”
