How can I sign up for a subscription?
To sign up for a new subscription or if you are a previous subscriber and need to place an order for renewal, please contact the AGC office at 916.371.2422 and reference the Online Contracts Subscription Service.

How long does it take to process my order and get access to the forms?
Once we have received your order and payment information along with the signed Copyright Agreement, it usually only takes 10 to 15 minutes to process the order. You will receive a confirmation via email that will contain your login and subscription information.

What software or hardware is required?
The Forms Customizer program is an online web-based application that produces a contract in Adobe PDF format. There is no software to install, but in order to use the service, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Windows Vista, XP, ME, 2000 or 98 (recommended processor speed of at least 800 MHz and 256 MB Ram)
  • Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional (version 5.0 or later)
  • Internet Explorer (v. 6 or later), Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox (other browsers may work but are not supported)
  • High speed internet access (DSL, Cable, etc). Dial-up and Satellite internet connections will yield less-than-satisfactory results.

Can I purchase a subscription if I am not a current member of AGC?
Yes, non-member companies or individuals may subscribe to the service, although member companies receive a significant discount for new signups and renewals. Non-members will not have access to a single form subscription, but my enroll in either the 5 Form Custom Select Package or the All Forms Package. Please see our  pricing matrix here.

Can I purchase a form for one use only?
If you need to create a single use contract only, it is recommended that you order the print versions of our contracts. The Online subscription service is designed for companies who generate numerous contracts and have a need to electronically archive these contracts. Online subscriptions are sold in 12 month increments only.

Should I purchase hard-copy forms or an online subscription?
See above. Generally, one-time contracts are much more cost effective by purchasing the printed versions. The annual subscription service is a convenience and productivity benefit for firms who generate form on a regular or repetitive basis, or produce an array of different forms in the course of their business operations. Print versions may be delivered standard mail or rush/overnight shipping, but may not be delivered via fax.

Can I change the wording or contract language on the forms?
Generally speaking, the legal language contained in AGC of California’s contract documents is carefully drafted by construction industry attorneys. Due to the binding nature and legal ramifications of altered language, AGC recommends that you do so only after seeking legal counsel. Furthermore, our PDF forms contain basic digital protection from language modification, but you can use Adobe’s strikeout feature to indicate sections that are non-applicable.

Can I download the forms to my computer’s hard drive?
Yes, but each contract that is generated from the Forms Customizer website will contain a few hard-coded fields that cannot be changed (i.e. Date, Contractor, Project, etc.). To generate a new contract, you will need to log into the website to start a new document. Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional is required in order to save the generated forms to your hard drive. The free Acrobat Reader does not permit saving of forms and is not supported.

Can I order a form or forms on CD?
No. AGC of California no longer offers the digital contract on compact disk or other portable media. Currently, documents are only available in print and online subscription versions.

Can I download the forms in Microsoft Word format?
No. All documents generated from the Forms Customizer website exist in Adobe PDF format. We do not sell or distribute editable plain or rich text formats.

Who do I contact with questions about the usage and purpose of a form?Subscribers to the Online Contracts subscription service may direct questions regarding usage, purpose and legality to AGC’s legal department at 626.608.5800. Please reference AGC of California’s Contract Documents.

Who do I contact for technical support?
For technical support with the online subscription service, please contact the AGC of California IT Services department at 916.371.2422. Before doing so, please make sure you have read the Forms Customizer 3.0 Quick Start Guide and Frequently Asked Questions on the Forms Customizer website at www.agclegalforms.com.

Can I view a demo before I purchase?
Yes. You may view a test site with sample documents at:

All forms can be reviewed prior to purchase on the AGC Online Contracts page. Documents are read-only and watermarked with “Sample”.

How can I get a refund?
Refunds are not offered with this service except under special circumstances.

I forgot my password or login link. How can I retrieve it?
You can get to the online contracts website (Forms Customizer) at http://www.agclegalforms.com. You can also retrieve your password from the same link by entering your email address. Please note, access is for those who have purchased a subscription and the login may differ from your AGC-CA.ORG login.
